Terms of use

1. Who may use nou

nou is an invitation-only clinical decision-support workspace for licensed / registered psychologists and authorised colleagues under their supervision. You must have a valid invite, Founding Clinician access, or owner access. Open self-registration is not offered.

2. Clinical responsibility

You remain solely responsible for all clinical decisions, documentation, and patient care. nou is not a medical device, not an EHR of record, not a crisis service, and not a substitute for professional judgement, supervision, or local clinical protocols.

3. AI-assisted content

Where the product uses AI to draft text, that output is provisional, labelled as such, editable, and requires your review before any use in a patient record. You must not treat AI output as diagnosis, treatment prescription, or crisis intervention.

4. Data you enter

You control clinical content you enter. Minimise identifiable patient data. You represent that you have a lawful basis and professional authority to process any health-related information you place in the workspace. See the Privacy notice.

5. Acceptable use

• No unlawful, abusive, or deceptive use
• No attempts to bypass access controls or invite-only gates
• No reverse engineering except as permitted by law
• No uploading of malware or content you lack rights to process

6. Intellectual property

The product software, design, and branding remain owned by nou (or its licensors). Clinical formulations and case content you author remain under your professional authorship and control, subject to these terms and applicable law.

7. Availability & security

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. You must use strong authentication practices and secure devices. Production hosting security controls are summarised on the Security page.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, nou is provided "as is". We are not liable for clinical outcomes, decisions made using provisional AI drafts, or third-party service failures. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion is unlawful).

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer or professional protections that apply in your place of practice. US PHI use additionally requires a signed BAA before hosted PHI is permitted.

10. Founding Clinician Access

Founding Clinician Access is a limited early-access licence offered to registered or licensed psychologists (or practitioners working under the supervision of one).

By purchasing Founding Clinician Access you receive:

• Access to the nou workspace for the stated period (initially 12 months from purchase)
• The founding year price locked for that period
• Priority consideration of feedback you choose to provide and early visibility of planned features

Founding Clinician Access does not confer equity, ownership, voting rights, partnership status, or any right to direct product development. Feedback is advisory only.

You confirm at the point of purchase that you are a registered/licensed psychologist (or practising under appropriate supervision) in your jurisdiction and will use the product only in accordance with your professional and legal obligations. We may suspend or terminate access if this confirmation is inaccurate or if these Terms are breached. The owner retains the right to manage and revoke access.

Payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe). Refunds are handled in accordance with the policy stated at checkout and applicable consumer law. After access has been granted, refunds are discretionary except where required by law.

All other Terms of Use, including clinical responsibility and AI provisional status, continue to apply in full.
